Holy Communion ~ Imposition of Ashes
Here is where we'll be meeting only for Ash Wednesday:
Ash Wednesday comes early this year: Feb 6th, the first Wednesday of February.
PROBLEM: The Woodlands Community Center has permanently rented out the large room the first Wed of each month to a quilting organization. No other room would do; they are just too small (nice problem to have).
SOLUTION: I've checked with Father Elisor at the REC church close to downtown, Holy Trinity, and he has extended an invitation for us to join him. He and I will share the duties of the service. It will be nice to see some of our REC brothers and sisters again.
THUS we'll meet with them on Feb 6th, 7:30 pm, at 211 Byrne St., Houston, TX 77009. It is really easy to find; just go straight down I-45 toward downtown to exit 49 B, which is our side of downtown so we don’t have to negotiate downtown traffic. Stay on the feeder road, and go through the traffic light. There is only one light to negotiate. Then turn right onto Byrne St, right next to a two story green house, which is about the second or third street to the right after the light. Go about 100 yards, and the church is on the right. If Byrne St is torn up because of construction, go to the next light on the access road (second light), turn right, then take the second right, which is Beauchamp, then go about 500 yards, and the church is on the right. The church is at the corner of Beauchamp and Byrne.
