“To worship the Triune God,
to proclaim the truth,
and to equip the saints,
all according to the Holy Scriptures”
- We take worship very seriously. We are liturgical, using the 1662 (or 1928) version of the Book of Common Prayer. We believe the Triune God should be the center of worship, and not ourselves. (Hebrews 10:19-25, see the series of sermons on worship under SERMONS or the "Lift Up Your Hearts" radio archive.)
- We seek to proclaim the truth of the Triune God and strongly teach and preach these things along with forgiveness of sins as a free gift.
- We want to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Eph 4:12). We emphasize Christian education, offering substantial classes for all ages in Sunday School. Our rector, Fr Crenshaw, is the Dean of Cranmer Theological House, an REC seminary which meets at St. Francis. Wednesday night studies, Explorers Fellowship, and Lydia's Legacy are other studies available.
We believe the Bible is the infallible word of the living God and affirm the three creeds of the Church (Apostles', Nicene and Athanasian). Moreover, we are a Reformation church, holding to the doctrines of grace as given in our doctrinal standad, the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion.
